What should be tested?
Building & Construction sites seem to be phasing out most 110V equipment in favour of battery powered tools as they pose a much lower risk of electric shock. However, battery chargers would still benefit form a recorded inspection. Even though battery powered equipment is lower risk, it may still be worth inspecting things like adequate guarding, switches etc.
How long does it take?
Around 15 items per hour, depending on minor repairs or length of flex.
How much does it cost?
Every job is different, we advise a site visit before work starts. We recommend a per item rate. I.e
- Standard rate for the first 30 items
- A per item rate thereafter
Or we can offer a per engineer per day rate or half day rate if you prefer.
How often does PAT testing need to be done?
The PAT testing frequency varies on several factors, such as type of equipment, the environment, how it’s used and by who.
Otherwise, we find most of our customers opt for the 3 monthly inspection and test in such harsh environments, this is normally dictated by large building contractors.
Why do you need PAT testing?
